The V8 engines were extremely well modified by TVR Power when new over and above their original forms.

This unit to the right 3950cc featured in a current stock car can be spotted with the Power steering pump, later post August 1994 `Serpentine engine', a better charging system, upgraded alarm, better cooling sensor positioning and a later coil pack for good measure.

As with this example a good `well oiled' chassis and engine never does the Chimaera any harm and beware of engines that have been overly cleaned with pressure washers as this tend to cause more problems than it solves.
