Owned, restored and enjoyed by me for the last seven years.

It’s a facelifted, Power Steering car with the 4500cc engine fitted, later T5 Borg warner gearbox, factory LSD.

RT Racing – Chassis

Full Body off, nut and bolt restoration, completed by me over a two year period.

Chassis stripped, new outriggers fitted/welded on by RT racing Sheffield (who have the original factory jigs), chassis and wishbones were then blasted, hot zinc coated and re powder coated factory white.

Every single bush was replaced with powerflex poly bushes, all bolts were replaced with new. Hubs were stripped,  re powder coated and re built with new wheel bearings. Ball joint, track rod ends replaced.

Driveshafts were stripped,  powder coated then rebuilt with new joints and gaiters.

V8 Developments- Engine

Engine was fully stripped, V8 Developments fitted a new stealth cam, followers, timing gear, valve guides, they timed the cam and rebuilt the head which was found to be a rare factory big valve head.

The engine was re assembled with powder coated rocker covers, new engine mounts, pre cats were removed from the exhaust manifolds, fitted with new gaskets, Arp bolts and nordlock washers.

The cooling system was re freshed with a high flow aluminium radiator, new heater matrix, new swirl pot and expansion tank as well as water p[ump, thermostat, every coolant hose replaced with silicon and every rigid coolant pipe replaced with stainless. Every pipe clip is stainless steel.

The induction hose was swapped to an ACT rigid version.

The complete ignition system was refreshed as well as every earth and positive cable re made in vastly uprated size.

New clutch fitted

New brake servo and master cylinder. Each brake callipers was taken apart, blasted, powder coated and then rebuilt with new pistons, seals and bleed nipples. Brake lines were changed to HEL stainless with stainless end fittings. Discs and pads were renewed.

Front brakes were uprated to Ford ST170 300 mm, front wheels were changed to 16 inch (as per the last Chimaeras)

DC Trimmers – Interior

The interior was re carpeted by DC trimmers in Blackpool. I also had the fuse box moved behind the passenger sear and had installed a slimmer Odyssey battery (which free up some much needed leg room). Seats were changed to Cerbera, adjustable with lumbar factory seats, (far more supportive and again fitted to the final Chimaeras)

Aluminium dashboard, stalks and hand brake levers were also fitted.

I have driven this car twice to Germany, the car never missed a beat, its ready for its next owner to put a stamp on it.

It gets serviced yearly no matter how low the annual mileage.

Hopefully I’ve conveyed the attention to detail and amount of effort that went into this rebuild.
