14th September 2008 – TVR Meet
Sunday the 14th sees the East Midlands TVR Car Club assembling for our last `summer` gathering before we adjourn to our new winter bolt hole.
We will be there in our stock Tuscan
As you may be aware originally John Case (TVR Regional Organiser) intended to do a drive around Derbyshire but then realised our date coincided with Geoff Gwynn`s TVRCC Pre 80`s gathering at Ruddington Park, Nottinghamshire so the drive has been altered for us all to attend this event as well.
Details are as follows;
We will all gather at `The Rose at Hose` (still listed as The Rose and Crown).
The Rose at Hose has just been acquired and in only a few weeks he has turned it from a second rate place to a place that everyone wants to be seen in.
Owner Martin Skinner is out of the music business making his initial money as a session man and arranger of hits in the 60`s.
He is now very much into the car business and has the pub as a bit of a hobby.
Sunday lunch is available and he has agreed to offer a 10% discount to any TVR CC members booking with them.
Please start arriving around 12 to 12.30 and I understand appropriate signs will be displayed on the main road directing you to the pub.
Try and fill the car park at the rear before we spill onto the very narrow road outside.
Sometime between 2 and 2.30 we will leave the pub for a 20 mile drive to Ruddington park to join Geoff and everyone at the Pre 80`s gathering.
