Griffith – All time classic

Buying a used Griffith won’t be as bad as you expect, let us do the homework and get hold of a modern day Healey 3000 with far better handling and a lot more grunt.

Good examples make a great investment in fun and at a time when the market is fairly reasonable not too shabby on the residuals if you buy a decent one.

Stunning is the only way you can describe the Griffiths shape close up and it helped create a golden era for TVR Engineering by selling in huge numbers even before it was delivered to the showrooms.

Autocar wrote on its launch “So close to greatness it hurts’

Performance car wrote “It must be the best designed and finished TVR ever produced”

1997 R Griffith

1998 S Griffith

Both the cars we have coming in this week feature power steering, giving it a considerable more modern feeling, they are also later examples both featuring the serpentine engine, updated dials and switch gear and mark 2 body shell (which gives far better cooling up front)

Although similar age one is factory original and the other is loaded with performance and handling upgrades. Which ever side you wish to look at both will tick the boxes.

The Griffiths have now reached a `watershed’ where age helps (still later the better) but is no substitute for a decent example in great condition.

This car thrust Peter Wheeler and his Blackpool concern into the public’s hearts – this is the original big league TVR
